Resolving and Closing Topics

Resolving a topic marks it as settled or complete. Resolved topics are archived from the active view but not deleted — the full thread history is preserved and can be accessed at any time.

Resolving a topic

  1. Click the ⋯ menu on a topic card, or open the topic and click Resolve in the topic header
  2. Select Resolve topic
  3. Optionally add a resolution note (a final message summarising the outcome)
  4. Click Resolve

The topic is marked with a Resolved badge and moves out of the active topics list into the Resolved section.

Viewing resolved topics

Resolved topics are hidden from the main discussion list by default. To view them:

  1. Click Show resolved at the bottom of the discussion sheet, or
  2. Use the filter and select Resolved

Reopening a resolved topic

  1. Find the resolved topic (in the Resolved section or via filter)
  2. Click the ⋯ menu
  3. Select Reopen

The topic returns to active status and is visible in the main discussion list again.

Who can resolve

Any user with access to the Public Discussion sheet can resolve any topic. On a Private sheet, only the owner can resolve topics.

Tip: Make it a habit to resolve topics when a decision is final. This keeps the active discussion list focused on open questions.
