Pinning Topics
Pinning keeps a topic permanently at the top of the Discussion sheet, regardless of recent activity. Use pinning to highlight the most important or reference topics in a thread.
Pinning a topic
- Click the ⯠menu on the topic card
- Select Pin topic
The topic moves to the top of the list and displays a pin indicator (š) on its card.
Unpinning a topic
- Click the ⯠menu on the pinned topic
- Select Unpin topic
The topic returns to its regular position in the activity-ordered list.
Multiple pinned topics
You can pin multiple topics simultaneously. Pinned topics appear in a dedicated pinned section at the top of the sheet, sorted by the order they were pinned (most recently pinned first).
Who can pin
Any user who can see a Public Discussion sheet can pin topics. On a Private sheet, only the sheet owner can pin.
When to pin
- Decisions ā pin the topic containing the final decision on a design or implementation question
- Context ā pin a background or context post that readers should see first
- Announcements ā pin a status update or important notice that the whole team should see
Tip: Combine pinning with resolving ā resolve topics that are settled and pin topics that are still relevant reference material. This keeps the active conversation clean while preserving important decisions.
