Assigning Items to Team Members

Each checklist item can be assigned to a member of your Jira instance. Assignees receive reminders (if set) and the assignment provides clear ownership at a glance.

Assigning an item

  1. Hover over the item and click the assignee icon (person silhouette)
  2. A user picker appears, showing Jira instance members
  3. Search by name or scroll to find the person
  4. Click their name to assign

The assignee's avatar appears on the item row.

Changing or removing an assignee

  • Click the current assignee avatar to reopen the user picker and select someone else
  • In the user picker, click Remove assignee to unassign the item

Who can be assigned

Only users who have access to the Jira instance can be assigned. WorkHub uses Jira's user read permission to populate the user picker.

Assignee and reminders

When a reminder is enabled on an item, the notification is sent to the assigned user. If no assignee is set, the reminder goes to the sheet owner (the person who created the checklist sheet).

Filtering by assignee

Use the Filter dropdown and select Assignee → Me to see only items assigned to you. This is particularly useful on shared Public checklists with many team members contributing.

Assignee visibility

Assignees are visible on Public sheets to anyone with access to the Jira issue. On Private sheets, the assignee information is visible only to the sheet owner.

Note: Assigning a checklist item to someone does not create a Jira notification by itself. Notifications are only sent via the Reminders feature.
