Creating Topics
A topic is the starting post of a thread. All replies and reactions are attached to a topic. Topics appear as cards in the Discussion sheet, ordered by most recent activity by default.
Creating a new topic
- Click + New topic at the top of the Discussion sheet
- Enter a title ā this is the heading of the topic card (required)
- Enter the body ā the main content of your post (supports rich text formatting)
- Click Post
The topic appears immediately in the discussion list. Other users with access to the sheet can see it and reply.
Topic body formatting
The topic body supports the same formatting options as the Rich Text editor:
- Bold, italic, underline
- Bullet and numbered lists
- Code blocks and inline code
- Links
- @mentions (triggers a Jira notification to the mentioned user)
Editing a topic
Topic authors can edit their own posts:
- Click the ⯠menu on the topic card
- Select Edit
- Update the title or body
- Click Save
Edited posts show an Edited label with a timestamp.
Deleting a topic
- Click the ⯠menu on the topic card
- Select Delete
- Confirm the deletion
Warning: Deleting a topic removes it and all its replies permanently. This cannot be undone.
Topic ordering
Topics are ordered by most recent activity (most recently replied to or created) by default. Pinned topics always appear at the top regardless of activity.
